At the age of 8 I wanted to be a super model. Soon later, I decided I’d become an Olympic athlete- no questions asked. Then, in high school I made my final decision… I’d move to California and major in chemical engineering so I could make my own makeup, all in hopes of one day owning my own cosmetic company. [ whew!]
Today I am a 22 year old Officer in the Army. I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Engineering Management. Pretty far off from anything I planned! My point is… you never know where life is going to take you. At 8 years old, even 18 years old, I would have never imagined this would be my life! So come along and join me on this ride down 8th Avenue.
My fascination for infinity signs started at a young age. Growing up, I played sports and had to have the number 8 (the infinity sign rotated) as my jersey number. No surprise then- my favorite number is 8 🙂 As I’ve gotten older however, I’ve found more meaning in the infinity sign. For me, it’s a symbol of our legacy. While our bodies may not remain on this Earth forever, our spirit and what we DO in this lifetime is forever.
Avenue comes from my name, Avrie. On homework assignments I would write “Ave.” My mama bear would always say, “Why not just “Av”? People are going to think you’re name is Avenue.” A rebel I was, so “Ave” it stayed. And so was born… 8th Ave.
Empowerment, inspiration, and advice. My mission is simply to empower and inspire you, my reader, to leave your legacy and give you advice along the way!
For my family reading this, it is because of YOUR support and love that I have gotten to where I am today. Before moving to another country, you all told me I have to keep you updated on everything that goes on in my life….So, to illuminate the mass amount of texts (group chats especially) 😉 , this is for you!
